Dao Minh Tri

Dao Minh Tri is born in 1950 in Hanoi.
He participated to numerous exhibitions in Vietnam but also in Russia (1983), Paris (1992), Seoul (1995) and in Singapore (1995), in Tokyo in 1996 and in Manila. He is a talented artist and a true character in itself. As the general secretary of the HCMC Fine Arts Association, he has been the pillar of the H&S contest and he has been extremely helpful and enthusiast.

The two paintings realised for the H&S contest, rather different from his art line and a little bit provocative, have also been withdrawn by the local authorities and one of the two has even been banned from the international exhibition. concours, His status of General Secretary and the “modern” style of his two paintings undoubtedly are the reasons for this move that we can only but regret.
Dao Minh Tri is a resourceful artist and he has overcome this issue to continue his promising work in the field of abstraction.

Tireless, he produced many works and has participated in numerous exhibitions.
In 2007, unfortunately, he was victim of a stroke that will handicap him but he still remains extremely active. Four months after his accident, he presented 28 paintings painted in an exhibition entitled « My Fish ». He also organized a solo exhibition in 2010 in HCMC widely reported in the press and on the web.
