Nguyen Minh Phuong is born in 1964 in Saigon and he has graduated from the Fine Arts Academy of Saigon in 1984. He will also follow a higher enduction program in the School of Aix en Provence in France.
Besides a couple of exhibitions in the country, he has presented some of his work in Hong Kong in 1994. Both of his paintings created in the framework of the H&S contest are without any doubts the most traditional of all paintings presented. The two of them consist of a very classical representation of people busy with their daily tasks.
But after the H&S contest, he will explore new horizons and work hard to find a personal style. This will include a surprising setting in Da Lat in 2004 where he has dressed dozens of trees. His style will tend then inexorably toward greater abstraction like his work entitled « Passport of the Planet » for example, which won the second prize in Singapore in 2008.
