“Convergence” is a joint art exhibition of two artists Ca Le Thang and Hung Khuynh with 30 recent art works in oil on canvas and lacquer materials. With two artists maturing in the Doi Moi ( reforming ) era, the exhibition showcases the materials to which the two artists have devoted their life-long careers and with which they achieved significant remarks in the development of Vietnam contemporary fine arts.
“Convergence” touches us in different ways with distinctive artistic approaches and motifs: Ca Le Thang with 15 oil canvas piences of the same name “Water Floating Season” bearing the breath of his home, the Southern delta area, and Hung Khuynh with 15 traditional lacquer paintings on the distinguishing Northern folk culture. Although the exhibition is diverse in artistic style and topic, the love for one’s birth place is predominant in both artists’ works. With their own takes, Ca Le Thang and Hung Khuynh deliver a viruoso manifastation of this affection in “Convergence”.
