Nguyen Van Phuong

photo_nguyenvanphuongNguyen Van Phuong is an admirable artist, born in 1930 and deceased in 2006. He was a magician. His paintings are taking us into a world of traditions that are disappearing little by little. Nguyen Van Phuong is ageless, he doesn’t change and he is the living witness of a fascinating world, the one of Indochina and its pastel colours. We present hereby two original paintings in the sense that they don’t represent traditional country scenes which usually characterize the rest of his work. We have here two symbols of Saigon, on one hand the cathedral of Notre-Dame and on the other hand the People’s Committee. Two paintings of great intensity.
